The 11 th World Xiangqi Championship
The 11th World Xiangqi Championship will be held from 28th of August to 3rd of September 2009, under the auspices of the World Xiangqi Federation, with the Chinese Xiangqi Association as Host Organizer, while the Provincial Administration of Sport of Shandong, the Municipal Government of Xintai as Co-Host Organizer.
Venue of the Championship is at Rongfeng International Hotel, Xin Tai city, Shandong Province, China.
The events will consist of Men's Team, Men's Individual, Non-Chinese/Vietnamese Individual, and Women's Individual.
Men's Individual will be a 9 round competition using Swiss System.
Women's Individual will depend on the participants for deciding the competition system and number of rounds.
Men's Team's standing will be based on the combined performance of the 2 representatives of each team.
Non-Chinese/Vietnamese Individual's standing shall be calculated separately.

(Note: For UK players, please have 2 recent passport-size photo ready, and preferably hand them in during the 20th of June's tournament, for a smooth preparation of registration of the World Championship).

主办单位是世界象棋联合会，承办单位是中国象棋协会，协办者山东省体育局、新泰市人民政府。
第11届世界象棋锦标赛日期为2009年8月28日－9月3日，赛场设在山东省新泰市荣峰国际大酒店。
比赛项目计有：
1.男子团体赛
2.男子个人赛；
3.非华越裔个人赛；
4.女子个人赛。
比赛办法基本是：1）
各国各协会可报名领队1人，男棋手2人，女棋手1人，非华越裔棋手名额不限。
男子团体奖前8名，第1到第3名颁发奖杯，第4到第8名颁发
男子个人、非华越裔个人奖前8名，女子个人奖前6名。 第1到第3名颁发奖杯、奖金；其他名次颁发证书、奖金。
