(Xiangqi Newsletter) News from Paris: The 35th European Xiangqi Championship was initially planned to be held in Paris in late December 2024 around the Christmas time. However due to Christmas holidays many players have already made a plan with their family. Hence the Organizers and the Sponsors decided to postpone the Championship to the end of January or early February 2025, during the Lunar New Year. The total prize money will also be increased from EURO 3,000 to EURO 5,000. The tournament venue will be in Paris 13th district. Year of the Ox tournament organized by UKCCA and kindly supported by the Vietnamese Community in East London, will take place on Saturday 7th of February 2009, venue as last year at Dockland Settlement Centre, 197 East Ferry Road, Isle of Dog, London E14 3BA, nearest station MUDCHUTE (Dockland Light Railway), about 5 minutes walking distance from station to the Centre. Eight prizes are on offered, first £150, 2nd £120, 3rd £100, down to the 8th with £20! 5 rounds Swiss System, starting time noon 12 o'clock, finishing around 19.00pm, refreshment and lunch available free for all participants! 4th World Xiangqi Open to be held in Dublin

(Xiangqi News) Organized by the World Xiangqi Federation, hosted by the Ireland Xiangqi Association and co-hosted by the European Xiangqi Federation, the 4th World Xiangqi Open 2024 will be held on August 10th-13th, at the Confucius Institute for Ireland, University College Dublin, Belfield, Dublin 4, Republic of Ireland. The Ireland Xiangqi Association has joined the World Xiangqi Federation recently, it has hosted with success the European Xiangqi Championships last year and in 2022. Closing date for the Open tournament registration to be on June 30th, 2024. Competition events include Men’s team; Women’s team; Men’s individual; Women’s Individual, as well as youth group U18, U15 and U12.
