（伦敦棋讯）第11届世界象棋锦标赛，定于2009年8月28日至9月3日，在中国山东省新泰市举办，赛场设于荣峰国际大酒店。已有28个国家及地区报名参加，男子选手81人，女子13人。比赛由世界象棋联合会授权中国象棋协会主办，接替由于经济危机而放弃主办权的加拿大。 比赛设奖金男子个人冠军五万元，亚军三万，季军二万，第八名六千。女子个人冠军二万元，亚军一万二千，季军八千，第六名也有奖金。非华越组冠军三万元，亚军一万五千，季军一万一千，第八名亦有四千。 参赛各国与地区：澳大利亚、汶莱、缅甸、柬埔寨、中华台北、东加拿大、西加拿大、中国香港、中国澳门、芬兰、法国、德国、荷兰、印度尼西亚、意大利、日本、西马来西亚、东马来西亚、蒙古、菲律宾、俄罗斯、新加坡、泰国、英国、东美国、西美国、越南、中国。 英国代表队由棋协的黎池刚先生担任领队，棋手是陈发佐、黄春龙及莱德（非华越选手）。此次英国队未派女子棋手参加。 本届棋坛盛会，参赛队伍与棋手人数均超过历届世界锦标赛，受到各方重视与关心，国内主要报纸、电视台、网站等30多家媒体参与赛事报道工作。 第11届世锦赛日程表：28日星期五迎宾、欢迎晚宴，8月29日星期六至9月2日星期三比赛，9月2日下午旅游泰山，9月3日星期四闭幕式及离会。 （组委会28日分别在 济南机场 与及 泰山火车站 ，接待远地而来的各国代表）

The 11 th World Xiangqi Championship The 11th World Xiangqi Championship will be held from 28th of August to 3rd of September 2009, under the auspices of the World Xiangqi Federation, with the Chinese Xiangqi Association as Host Organizer, while the Provincial Administration of Sport of Shandong, the Municipal Government of Xintai as Co-Host Organizer. Venue of the Championship is at Rongfeng International Hotel, Xin Tai city, Shandong Province, China. The events will consist of Men's Team, Men's Individual, Non-Chinese/Vietnamese Individual, and Women's Individual. Men's Individual will be a 9 round competition using Swiss System. Women's Individual will depend on the participants for deciding the competition system and number of rounds. Men's Team's standing will be based on the combined performance of the 2 representatives of each team. Non-Chinese/Vietnamese Individual's standing shall be calculated separately. As a preliminary practice leading up to the forthcoming June's UK Championship, and a good opportunity to be familiar with the tournament place, a small scale Xiangqi competition will be held on Saturday the 30th of May from 11.30am to 5.30pm, venue same as the June 20th UK Championship, that is at Raines Foundation Lower School (Tower Hamlets Chinese School), Old Bethnal Green Road, London E2 9RG. All players welcome, entry fee £5, registration and pay on the day.
