(Xiangqi Newsletter) News from Paris: The 35th European Xiangqi Championship was initially planned to be held in Paris in late December 2024 around the Christmas time. However due to Christmas holidays many players have already made a plan with their family. Hence the Organizers and the Sponsors decided to postpone the Championship to the end of January or early February 2025, during the Lunar New Year. Meng Chen & Tang Sinan The New World Champions

The 18th World Xiangqi Championship hosted in Houston, is drawing to a close with an electrifying final that crowned new champions -- Meng Chen（孟辰）and Tang Sinan（唐思楠）of Team China. Demonstrating the global appeal of Xiangqi, which is often referred to as Chinese chess, the one-week prestigious event ended on Saturday night, marking the first time the tournament has been held on American soil. In the edge-of-the-seat Men's Final held on Friday,world Vietnamese star Lai Ly Huynh（赖理兄）clashed with Chinese Grandmaster Meng Chen in a game brimming with skillful plays and opportunities. Lai appeared poised to clinch his first World Championship title, dominating the early stages of the match.
