Grandmaster's further techniques

Today continuing our series of Grandmaster Hu Ronghua's endgame techniques, here are Game No.9 to Game No.12.

There is no doubt that moves speak better than words.

第十局 Game No.10

广州杨官璘 对 上海胡荣华 （广州-上海象棋友谊赛）Yang Guanlin versus Hu Ronghua, Guangzhou & Shanghai Friendly, 1963 December 28th, Guangzhou.

Red to move now, previously Black had played R5=7.








Draw agreed.





第十一局 Game No.11

上海胡荣华 对 广州陈柏祥 （广州-上海象棋友谊赛）Hu Ronghua versus Chen Baixiang, Guangzhou & Shanghai Friendly, 1963 December 29, Guangzhou

Red to move. Hu won the endgame in a steady, no rush style.












第十二局 Game No.12

黑龙江王嘉良 对 上海胡荣华 （全国棋艺锦标赛）Wang Jialiang versus Hu Ronghua, National Xiangqi Festival Championships, 1964 May 9th Hangzhou.

The impression we have from this game is that Hu Ronghua never gave up the struggle, he was not afraid to let go of his Cannon and Knight, in order to stay on course for a longer period of survival, hoping maybe to spring a deadly surprise.
