The Dim & Fuzzy Collection
An endgame from "The Dim & Fuzzy Collection (100 checkmate in three Xiangqi problems)" by C. K. Lai. The book was self-published in the year 1995.
This is game No. 2, entitled 'On Your Left', the Hints were "Here there is only one single Pawn inside the Palace. How is it worked out that this one Pawn got the upper hand over the enemy King and Guard? Until one see it, one would not believe it!"
(Remark: Rule 1. In Xiangqi two Kings cannot face each other on the same file unless there is at least a piece in between. Rule 2. A stalemate is a win for the player who is giving stalemate)
As usual, Red moves first.
