The "Xinhua Baoxian Cup" tournament with 9 rounds Swiss system, starting from 3rd and finishing 5th of March, has attracted 108 participants, the winner will pocket 2000 yuan for the first prize, 1st runner-up will get 1000 yuan, 2nd runner-up 800 yuan, down to the 16th place.
Immediately after the tournament, in the afternoon there will be a blindfold chess exhibition by Xiangqi Master Xie Kui (1 versus 2) and a simultaneous display by Shandong province top player Hou Zhao Zhong (1 versus 20).
