Love of books helpful for players

Grandmaster Xu Yinchuan won recently the Jia Zhou Cup tournament, he was born in Guangdong's Hui Lai in 1975, four times winner of National Individual Championships.

He is one of a few players who went to University. Answering question from a journalist, Xu Yinchuan said that his game has benefited from his University experience, he added that love of books is definitely helpful for all players to develop their games and improve the quality of life.

4th World Xiangqi Open to be held in Dublin

(Xiangqi News) Organized by the World Xiangqi Federation, hosted by the Ireland Xiangqi Association and co-hosted by the European Xiangqi Federation, the 4th World Xiangqi Open 2024 will be held on August 10th-13th, at the Confucius Institute for Ireland, University College Dublin, Belfield, Dublin 4, Republic of Ireland. The Ireland Xiangqi Association has joined the World Xiangqi Federation recently, it has hosted with success the European Xiangqi Championships last year and in 2022. Closing date for the Open tournament registration to be on June 30th, 2024. 35th Xiangqi Championship in Paris 2025

(Xiangqi Newsletter) News from Paris: The 35th European Xiangqi Championship was initially planned to be held in Paris in late December 2024 around the Christmas time. However due to Christmas holidays many players have already made a plan with their family. Hence the Organizers and the Sponsors decided to postpone the Championship to the end of January or early February 2025, during the Lunar New Year. The total prize money will also be increased from EURO 3,000 to EURO 5,000. The tournament venue will be in Paris 13th district.
